Driven by the desire to provide a modern machining and fabrication service to Northwestern Ontario industries, James Dingwell and Frank Zurych opened Dingwell's Machine Shop in 1945.image

   Today, Dingwell's North America continues the founder's vision in our vibrant hometown of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Located on the northern shore of Lake Superior, Thunder Bay is surrounded by the rugged beauty of the Canadian Shield and is the commercial and industrial hub serving the many and diverse natural resource enterprises spread throughout an area the size of central Europe.

Since its start in 1945, Dingwell's has been in a constant state of growth and development and now boasts more than 28,500 square feet of machining and fabrication space. With 90 employees, Dingwell's is dedicated to providing the best in product and service to the Pulp & Paper, Lumber, Board and Mining industries through out North America.image   Diversity has long been the key to Dingwell's success.

By listening to our customers, Dingwell's has recognized and responded to the changing face of the Natural Resources industries. We continue to acquire the equipment and the people needed to remain a viable and modern company. From mill experienced engineers to skilled trades people, Dingwell's is at the forefront of standard and CNC machining, metal fabricating and welding services. In 1992, Dingwell's was honored with the Northern Ontario Company of the Year award for outstanding achievement in business development.

Besides the regular and specialty machining and fabricating capabilities, Dingwell's North America  has introduced re-engineering, prototyping and materials handling system services. In particular, our Materials Handling Division can provide our customers with a very competitive alternative when they upgrade or expand their existing operations. To maintain the competitive edge, Dingwell's has also partnered with well established international companies to assure our customers of access to the best choices in equipment and materials handling technologies worldwide. As a result, we can offer an outstanding service for the designing and manufacturing of all types of materials handling systems.

   Dingwell's North America  is committed to product quality and customer satisfaction. Our soon to be completed ISO 9000 certification will compliment our current Quality Assurance program.
